Now that you have, I will explain why this clip has touched me so much.

Like Maysoon Zahid, I once looked after a little boy with severe cerebral palsy.

I still remember the first time I met him. He was lying on a mat on the floor,kicking his legs and turned to give me a smile that spoke straight to my heart. He was kicking....but not walking.

I went to his house every day that summer and held him up and taught him how to walk.

Believe me when I say,NOTHING in my life has given me that much joy than I got from seeing him take unsupported steps.

For able bodied people,we take our health for granted. Look down on others who are differently abled. Tease them,humiliate them just like Maysoon said the trolls do.

I know internet gives the courage for the bullies and the meek in real life to get extra brave and insult with aplomb.

But look at Maysoon. She addressed a roomful of what was to HER - differently abled people.

What did they do?

They stood up and clapped for the woman who can't stand without shaking.

Yes,Maysoon, you can can!

I was hoping to write an ode for you, but then decided, simplicity was better.

We met, we clashed, you unfollowed me & out of the blue was that tweet that you had never seen anyone with a more honest opinion than me.

When that olive leaf was extended, I am glad I wasn't in an egoistic mood. I took the compliment with an open heart and in the process,won a very loyal friend.

There wasn't an hour that we wouldn't chat. Reaching late had become a habit. We managed to keep in touch in different ways and everyday,I learnt more about my Sammy.

Thank you for accepting me as I am. Not expecting me to toe any line (you knew,I wouldn't do it 😜😂🙊) nor ever expecting me to follow any clan,clique or fandom.

Thanks for being you. Loyal,understanding, empathetic and awesome to have around.

I miss our daily interactions yet know you are busy.

FANDOMS and My Failure at Being a REAL Fan

I have watched Desi shows before. But wasn't active on social platforms. Then came a show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.

I went from merely watching the show on YouTube to commenting on it. From there to a dedicated blog...then to Twitter and there I finally learnt many a lesson.

As long as the show was on,I had poems,Shayaris,Symbolism posts,DP creations,commenting....so much to do.

And then the show ended.

Along with it,came the ugly side of fandoms. Camps,curses,scheming and self appointed leaders.

Now these leaders can sway the herd well....from cultured to downright ugly. I have seen it all.

Then the main lead does a movie....then another movie....and Maybe another if he is lucky.

In the process of the former two movies filming & it's subsequent "Almost shelved" current status,I have watched many a non-entity get bloated egos because 1000s of the actor's fans would follow ANYONE for a scrap of news.

I realised,that yes, I was a fan of the character,but I could not stalk anyone and everyone for news for the actor. I just wasn't fan enough. But because I wasn't blinded,I could see that in some ways,such madness could In fact impact an actor negatively too.

Let's hope the man has a release and a successful film......god knows many went with the same dream and returned with their tails between their feet.

Not everyone is a Shahrukh or a Sushant.

Jodha - A Queen Or A Pampered Kid

As evident shows, I am a fan of the show Jodha Akbar.

Though I did not manage to watch the show from the start, I have been avidly following it for the past 4-5 months and based on that and past 2-3 days episodes,here is what I think.

Jodha, for a 15th century Begum of all people, got away with a lot.

Hence I am sitting with the dilemma of how different she actually is from Ruquaiya. They both do what they want and poor Jalal facilitates their desires.

Time and again I have seen Jodha's mother telling her what she should do,how she should behave but Jodha always does what SHE thinks is right.

I wonder at times if she has EVER,heart of hearts,felt she is human and very capable of making mistakes.

In keeping her promise to her rebel brother,will she now lose her husband's trust,love and indulgent behaviour? From what I have watched thus far, that looks a possibility. Do I think she deserves it? Yes.

Though I love Jodha,I also remember she was from the 15th century,not the 21st. I feel it will take losing Jalal completely and possibly being banished to Amer for her Amer obsession to stop. To make her remember,she no longer is Amer's pampered brat but a wife of an Emperor. For her to remember,as per the vows she took,her husband and his concerns MUST come before anything else.

She needs to realise, brothers may come and go,but she may never get Jalal back....EVER!

Once Again Man Failed While Playing God

It's been nigh close to 12 days since MH 370 went missing.

So many of us have spent hours reading every bit of news on this matter. Yet what news do we have thus far of a HUGE jet and 239 human beings? Almost close to nothing.

When you hear of ships & helicopters searching high and low, I wonder who is paying for all this. When search goes from here to there, I wonder where next.
When you hear Straits of Malacca one day and Maldives the next, I wonder why not Malaysia itself.

But in the whole scheme of things you realise ONE thing. Man thinks he has conquered all fields, all frontiers,all mysteries.....yet here is a mystery all the 21st century gadgets have not managed to solve!
We invented and invented and play God everyday.

But God right now,seems the ONLY person who knows what's going on. I really hope for the sake of the families of all aboard that flight, God will choose to shine his light and compassion on all of them and mankind as a whole.

I haven't the slightest clue how we became friends.

This is an art the vast majority of the world has NO clue about!

And I am sorry to say,the people who we trust our lives and in some cases,our deaths with.....NO......NOT Yamraj, the DOCTORS - have NO clue of the P of punctuality!

They are one breed who may do operations on time but an outpatient visit?!!?! So help you God,they ensure you leave the marks of your warm posterior on their chairs!

Medical colleges should have a Punctuality Oath along with the Hippocrates Oath! No medical license unless you prove you are punctual!

WHY AM I NOT FIRST?

Few minutes ago, I read some tweets that asked this very question - Why am I not FIRST in anyone's life ?

This is a feeling I personally feel most of us have felt at some point of our lives. We put our heart and soul into various relationships,be it with parent,siblings,friends,husbands,sons,daughters, etc and yet we feel that they don't give you half as much importance as you give them.

I am no psychologist, but I think,the day man could have an internal meter that instinctive told him "Buddy,this person is just patronising you" or "Stop falling back to do things for this person,you mean nothing to them" humankind will be spared off a LOT of anguish of just not being GOOD ENOUGH!
