Am sure that most of you in India know what I am talking about.
To the uninitiated, a young actress who won the best acting accolade in the country,namely the National Award for Best Actress, was recently arrested as part of a high class Prostitution ring.
So, why is my post called Named & Shamed? That's because the media had a fabulous field day,tearing her dignity by naming her and shaming her. At poking at the reasons why she did all this.
But HELLO, to make a prostitute a prostitute,you need a man between her legs. Why isn't even ONE of her clients been named and shamed? Why has the police and media very conveniently hushed up those names??
So the prostitution ring was a High Class Ring. Which mean big well known names. So does that make it their birth right to get away scot free? In the male chauvinistic world of India, is the man protected whatever the crime? Anywhere else,the clients would be named.
The media,which otherwise is always looking into Sansani details,why are they now not using their skills to name the clients ? Oops I forgot. These men have money and power and not to forget a long suffering wife in most cases.
Media is so biased,even the women journalists were ripping apart the woman's name & her past. As a fellow woman,they forgot that to have sex, u need two people.So why no efforts to find those names?
I appreciate men like Hansal Mehta who offered the girl a job.She did go into the oldest professional in the world because she wasn't getting any more roles and hence no money. I appreciate men like Mukesh Chhabra who spoke up and spoke up well for her.
Justice will be served in truth when the clients are named and shamed.
After all,it takes 2 to Tango.....Oops....toss around a bed.
