WOMEN ARE ALWAYS THEIR OWN ENEMIES.

Once again written on the characters of the popular Sony TV show Reporters:

In life there are all sorts of women. Jealous, mean, ambitious, cold, manipulative, etc. And some innocent, helpful, large hearted women.

Richa is very obviously the jealous type. Till Ananya was at loggerheads with Kabir, Richa was all smiles. Moment she realised that Kabir had chosen Ananya, the mean side of her emerged. She openly even says that's why I was pushing you to go to Mumbai. The vehemence with which she told Ronnie that aunty will refuse....even Ronnie felt suspicious about her. If her infatuation was made public,I would love to ask her, how the same guy she criticised is suddenly eligible to her.

Malvika - the manipulative b****. Bade baap ki bigdi hui beti. If all her efforts of enslave a man fails, she becomes his boss and then watches his humiliation. Doesn't work much but has all the time in the world to sleep around, fling herself at men and stand in the PCR room, ONLY during Kabir's segment. When she realised Kabir has slipped out of her hands, she is now enjoying the war between Shreya and Kabir.

Shreya - ambitious and manipulative. In one episode, vocal flashback show how small minded she is. If a man doesn't achieve what she think is high enough, she ridicules him by belittling him. And years later, on realising "O Terrrri! He is now NĂºmero Uno in India,
Suddenly thinks,"Chalo,hum Ek ho jayein".

And then there is the vivacious, feisty, gregarious Ananya Kashyap. Try as he may, Kabir was a goner. She wormed into his heart through her large heartedness, her smiles, her stubbornness to stick to her personal values.....I can go on and on and on.

Given the comparison, NO WONDER Kabir fell head over heels for his nemesis, Miss Kashyap.

THE THING THEY CALL TRP AND ITS RIPPLES

This post is in particular written for Reporters - A Show on Sony TV. But the points wouldn't be much different for any show on any channel anywhere in the world.

The Ratings Story And What I Think Of It.

My latest favourite Desai show is Reporters.

This is my response to the current TRP.

As we know, and as Srishti Arya also mentioned in her interview, is surprisingly small.

But I believe we shouldn't be disheartened.

The fact of the matter is :

1) Sony isn't the biggest channel in the pool

2) Given the above, viewership also are on a lesser scale

3) Star Plus thrives on saas bahu stories which have crossed 1,500 episodes....bcos the fact of the matter is its saases and bahus who give the TRP. For the educated internet savvy, such stories do not appeal, but that amounts to 90% of the viewership.

4) Select houses only have the device that measures TRP or so I have been told.

5) Promos. Star Plus spends lots of time on promos. More advertisement, more viewership.

6) Content. Sony has always had a different choice of content. They have variety. Crime, fiction, mythology.
Far less mother in laws and black magic themes.

7) We as viewers HAVE to allow the makers to make, what they started out to make. They are forced by channels to adapt for TRPs and therein starts the decline of any show.

So, all in all, I think given these points, we shouldn't get disheartened by Reporters TRP.

We have a fantastic cast and crew and we are thoroughly enjoying the show. Let's continue to encourage all of them as they give their best to us.

Happy viewing !
