TRAPPED,NAMED & SHAMED....MAKDEE KE JAAL MEIN!

Am sure that most of you in India know what I am talking about.

To the uninitiated, a young actress who won the best acting accolade in the country, namely the National Award for Best Actress, was recently arrested as part of a high class Prostitution ring.

So, why is my post called Named & Shamed? That's because the media had a fabulous field day, tearing her dignity by naming her and shaming her. At poking at the reasons why she did all this.

But HELLO, to make a prostitute a prostitute, you need a man between her legs. Why isn't even ONE of her clients been named and shamed? Why has the police and media very conveniently hushed up those names??

So the prostitution ring was a High Class Ring. Which mean big well known names. So does that make it their birth right to get away scot free?  In the male chauvinistic world of India, is the man protected whatever the crime? Anywhere else, the clients would be named.

The media, which otherwise is always looking into Sansani details, why are they now not using their skills to name the clients ? Oops I forgot. These men have money and power and not to forget a long suffering wife in most cases.

Media is so biased, even the women journalists were ripping apart the woman's name & her past. As a fellow woman, they forgot that to have sex, u need two people. So why no efforts to find those names?

I appreciate men like Hansal Mehta who offered the girl a job.She did go into the oldest professional in the world because she wasn't  getting any more roles and hence no money. I appreciate men like Mukesh Chhabra who spoke up and spoke up well for her.

Justice will be served in truth when the clients are named and shamed.

After all,it takes 2 to Tango.....Oops....toss around a bed.

  2. Wery well said timely written and most of the Countries especially in India #We hve heard high profile Creamy layers commenting "If You cant prevent RAPES enjoy it, such is the state and condition of our Country. When ever a case of Rapism or arrests against Prostitution comes Highlights close up zoom shots are for that girl vicitimised and not the one who used her as #Commodity and leave alone Male chauvenistic people even the #So called Women's lib orgn who preach so much abt feminism why not even a single voice raised against these attrocious charges for which she was not alone the cause. #An Offer + Acceptance = Agreement whn the laws sys to why the acceptor has been brt to bars and the offerer. Even to get roles it is heard that girls have to pay their molest as a heavy price but if that would have been done it would hv been within the four walls but now the matter recd a propaganda. I wish pray she shd get justice. A fervent appeal to all : After she has been offered a job pleas let her live her live peacefully atleast nw and by ur nasty comments dont drag her provoke her and push her to dothe same profession. I plead u all. Tj

  3. A well written article n timely. It takes 2 to tango. Why the high class clients not named? They get off Scott-free. Sad state of our country were a weakling is downtrodden n others r home free. Judging is easy, finding a solution difficult.

  4. Kitty attitudes in India ingrained for centuries!Men will forever hide behind their fame and fortune and women will be blighted for seeking the same. This young girl did what she needed to to survive. Those men who are involved did it because their egos and full pockets allowed them!
Women should join hands and catch a fallen one not keep pulling each other down. But when will it happen in India?Well I still have hope that with globalisation attitudes towards women are beginning to change.Well done for writing about it and allowing us to respond.Chande is coming to India at last!

  5. So damn true... these media people so brilliantly picturised the girl as the culprit while she is actually the victim... they showed her pics & even named the movie she has done, so that every1 can recognise her always.. they left no stone unturned to make matters worse for the girl...while her clients take a break from their daily routine & fuck their wives for some tym before resuming their old habit. If the girl gets imprisoned for prostituting then those men should be hanged to death for indulging in it.
No matter how much the pol. leaders in India shout abt equality among sex bt women will always be dominated by men. Mardaani movie deals with such a sensitive issue & our censor board as usual insisted on censoring certain scenes & words & also teenagers & kids r not allowed to watch the movie, while teenage girls need to watch the movie most, as the movie depicts the reality on how such young girls r forced into prostitution. Now, why don't they ever ban salman khan movies which r filled with violence & bad language?? Ofcourse not afterall he is one of the khans of bollywood.!!

  6. A very well written piece Vixxy. Media and police become biased in high profile cases. Sometimes they reveal a rape victim's true identity by mistake and sometimes they hide identities of men with name & power by choice (of making more money). It's a very sorry state of our nation but off course exclusively for females and men with no wealth. I'm glad that at least now women are becoming more open and expressive and can see what the powerful people try to hide.

  7. A very well written article V...Why are they putting up her picture again n again?!!That's regretful...!!! There may be others as well... That doesn't mean you will highlight and spoil the name of one person or others...
It wasn't required to put up the picture..This is how media in India degrades 'Women', doesn't matter if she had been a National Award winner or a child artist and esp if she from film industry...
Media or the so called celebrities did not even come forward to atleast help her from the crisis she had been and is now... But I am sure they got comments for her may be good or bad but wouldn't come forward to help her!!!
She did agree that it was the bad circumstances that lead her to take that step... It doesn't matter what... She should be respected for what she was and is now.!!!
I dont know why people/media after this again and again..!!
Why every time media mentioning her name and showing her pictures only?!!..It's all targeting a person... Why do you ignore business people and big ones who are actually involved. Why can't you bring them out. Shameless media. And what is all this nonsense, you shameless moronic media conducting polls 'is she right or not?!!'...who the hell are you or we to decide it?!!..
Everyone knows media is a part of black mailing. But Media shouldn't malign her or any women they come across..i appreciate those men you mentioned who supported her this period and sakshi tanwar(i think only woman who opened her mouth on this issue so far)
Once again a well written post V

  10. For the media, its a story that sells, a story that feeds directly to the voyeurism afflicting this species called humans. We read it, we do a bit of schadenfreude and we then pity the girl who had to stoop to prostitution to feed herself. Its a story about the downward spiral of a veritable potential and it makes us glad that we are not in her situation.

The story should have been about how desperate and cornered the starlet must have felt before pushed over the edge. What help was denied and refused her before she was forced or willingly assumed prostitution as her only available alternative. I don't know if naming and shaming the clients would further stir the salacious nature of the scandal, adding more fuel to the fire of who, when, where, with whom and how many times she was abused. Delivering swift justice and granting anonymity to the starlet would have been the higher roads to take.

  11. A lot of noise is made only when there's something big to hide. Her client list probably reads the who's who of a society full of the stinking mud they're slinging at this girl. - Thank you for this post. Well written and well said.

  12. The bitter truth articulated in a fiercely honest way. Yes, we belong to a 2 faced , hypocrite society who will pass judgements on any random person without giving a second thought about how 'so called morally' correct they are.
Lovely post Kits! way to go!
